Since his ousting from the India Test squad on Saturday, Wriddhiman Saha has made some shocking revelations. (More cricket news)
While he revealed that BCCI Sourav Ganguly previously promised him not to worry about his place in the team and Rahul Dravid asked him to think about retirement, he also shared a worrying WhatsApp message that he received from a “journalist” after his ousting from the team.
In the screenshot shared by Saha, it could be seen that the ‘reporter’ had asked him for an interview and when the 37-year-old doorman objected, he was threatened.
“After all my contributions to Indian cricket…this is what I am faced with from a so called ‘respected’ journalist! This is where journalism has gone,” Saha wrote, sharing the picture of the cat.
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketers have lent their support to the wicketkeeper. While Virender Sehwag lambasted the “journalist”, Harbhajan Singh supported Saha and asked him to name the person.
“Extremely sad. Such a sense of entitlement, it is not respected or journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi,” Sehwag wrote.

Harbhajan Singh said, “Wridhi, you just name the person so the cricket community knows who works like that. Otherwise, even the good ones will be suspected. What kind of journalism is this? @BCCI @Wriddhipops @JayShah @SGanguly99 @ThakurArunS players should be protected.”

Saha’s last appearance for India came in early December in the second Test against New Zealand in Mumbai.
