Tottenham: A journalist reacts to the Traoré link

Tottenham Hotspur target Hamed Junior Traore would fit in the Premier League, journalist claims Pete O’Rourke.

The Lowdown: Five Horse Race

The Ivorian still has almost two years left on his contract with Sassuolo but his performances at the Mapei stadium seem to have caught the eye of several potential suitors.

West Ham, AC Milan, Napoli and Juventus, alongside the Lilywhites, have all been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old, with at least £26million needed to get him out of the squad by Alessio Dionisi.

The Last: O’Rourke’s Comments

Talk to The Transfer TavernO’Rourke was asked if he thought Traore would be a suitable match for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

The journalist replied: “Yes, I think someone like Traore could be someone who could do the trick for them.”

The verdict: Serie A revisited

Despite being out of action since June due to a metatarsal fracture, Traore has an impressive track record with Sassuolo seeing him tagged a player “on fire” by Jacek Kulig earlier this year.

The 5ft11 dynamo has scored 18 goals and provided nine assists for his current club, underlining his creativity in the middle of the park, and he is a versatile player, having also operated as a left winger in addition to his usual central role.

Fabio Paratici has a history of buying Serie A players, most recently the likes of Destiny Udogie and Ivan Perisic, so it’s no surprise to hear that Tottenham’s sporting director is once again turning his attention to the Italy in hopes of landing Traoré in 2023.
