Spanish journalist gives PSG a boost on Lionel Messi’s future (video)

Lionel Messi’s future remains a topic of discussion and nothing will be resolved until the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the Argentine wants to focus on his final tournament.

Messi’s contract expires in June 2023 and then the veteran striker will have to decide if he wants to stay in Europe or maybe head to the United States and join MLS side Inter Miami.

During an appearance on BBC’s ‘The Football News Show’, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague remains adamant that Messi will stay at PSG this season on the latest update regarding the 35-year-old’s future.

“PSG go to Leo and say listen, ‘You have to sign today’,” Balague said. “’For some reason, you have to sign today. This one plus one. Leo Messi will sign to stay at PSG. But he told those around him at PSG ‘I don’t want to think about it. Let’s do it after the World Cup.

“So MLS. They’re also ready for him. I think his dad has been to Miami a couple of times, met people at the club and the intention is for him to go to Miami. But I think Sergio Busquets will make it there the next season. And I don’t think Leo Messi is ready to give up the top flight.”
