The Sun’s chief sportswriter Martin Lipton has revealed that while Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae is on Tottenham’s radar this summer, he is not high on the club’s wish list. Antonio Conte.

Conte is believed to be hoping to sign two centre-backs this summer, with Alessandro Bastoni, Josko Gvardiol, Pau Torres and Gleison Bremer among those interested in the north London club (Football.London).

Ekrem Konour reported earlier this month that Spurs are also considering a move for Kim, who excelled in his first season in Turkey after leaving Beijing Guoan 12 months ago.

This was supported by the Turkish publication takvimwho then reported that Tottenham were one of five clubs interested in the centre-back, along with Everton, AC Milan, Napoli and Sevilla.

The report revealed that the 25-year-old has a €23m (£19.8m) release clause in his contract with Fenerbahce.

Lipton has now insisted that while Spurs could make an approach for Kim this summer, they probably won’t.

He said Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel“They’ve been watching a lot, there’s a certain level of centre-half they’re looking at, the Korean boy is slightly below the top tier of this list at the moment.

“He’s on the list, but he’s not necessarily at the top, it’s a possible rather than probable.”

Boosts web opinion

I expected a left centre-back to be one of the first players to come through Spurs’ door this summer. I’m surprised the club are now apparently prioritizing additions in other areas of the pitch. This suggests to me that Paratici thinks one of the club’s top targets for the job would become available later in the window.
