Speaking on his YouTube channel, Charles Watts provided an update on Arsenal and the imminent signing of Fabio Vieira.

The Portuguese midfielder looks set to sign for Arsenal this summer, and Porto have already announced a deal is in place for the 22-year-old to join the Gunners.

Everything seems to be going very fast on this one at the moment, and it’s reasonable to think that Arsenal could announce the arrival of this player very soon.

However, according to Watts, there are still some formalities to go through and an announcement is not imminent, with the reporter stating that it could be an announcement that will not be announced until early next week.

What was said?

Watts talked about Vieira.

“He’s at London Colney at the moment, he arrived last night so he’s on the training ground at the moment doing all the medical checks. Although Porto have confirmed that a deal has been agreed, that doesn’t doesn’t mean the transfer has been finalized, it’s not yet. Speaking to a few people today, I don’t think an announcement is imminent,” Watts said.

“We may have to wait for the first stages next week or even the weekend, for Arsenal to confirm it. They have to wait for the medical checks and then the legal agreements with the legal team and the contracts to be signed, only then will Arsenal announce the transfer, so it could last a few more days.

Pretty well done

Regardless of when this one is announced, it looks like Vieira will be Arsenal’s first signing this summer.

Everything indicates that this deal is practically done, and it’s time for Arsenal supporters to get excited.

The 22-year-old is one of Europe’s brightest young talents, and he could be Martin Odegaard’s perfect understudy for years to come.

Arsenal already had an exciting young core and they are set to get even better.
