Reporter provides update on Jurgen Klopp’s future at Liverpool

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg gave an update on Jurgen Klopp’s future at Liverpool this week. The boss sees his side struggling.

There’s a lot of talk about Jurgen Klopp and his future at Liverpool right now. The Reds are not playing well, after all, and have suffered defeats in each of their last two Premier League games.

But according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Klopp is going nowhere. The Liverpool boss fully intends to stay for the long term and the club had no desire to part ways.

” Someone told me that [Klopp] still has the full support of the owners,” Plettenberg wrote. on Twitter. “Klopp isn’t thinking about quitting either – confirmed.

“[Liverpool] wants to invest in the best transfers next summer – with Klopp. A central midfielder is already in demand in winter!

Well, I hope Plettenberg has the money here because that’s absolutely the stance Liverpool should take. For starters, Klopp’s future shouldn’t even be a question.

Yes, Liverpool struggle for form. Yes, they have lost to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United in consecutive Premier League games. But they have also beaten Manchester City in recent weeks and progressed to the Champions League with a game to spare.

Not to mention the fact that we are only three months into the season. Only six months ago, Liverpool were on the verge of a quadruple. It’s not enough to blow up the whole football side of the club.

Instead, the plan should be to invest in January. Liverpool like to have a goal in mind and then move for it and no one else. That plan can be shelved this winter – the Reds need to find the best available midfielder and sign him.

Maybe it means spending more than someone’s odds, maybe it means taking a chance on someone else. Either way, they can’t leave the winter window empty-handed. Fortunately, it looks like Liverpool are expecting some movement.
