The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the north London club, and O’Rourke believes he would be more than open to a reunion with his former boss.

What is the latest news about De Vrij?

According to Tuttosport, Inter are ready to say goodbye to De Vrij this summer, with the Dutchman set to enter the final year of his contract.

In December, FC Inter News reported that Tottenham had inquired about signing De Vrij, so it looks like they could be a possible destination should Inter decide to sell in the next transfer window.

The Dutch international has been an important player for Inter since joining them from Lazio in 2018, helping the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title last season after making 32 appearances.

However, it now looks like his time at the San Siro could be coming to an end, with Tottenham a side apparently keeping tabs on his current situation.

What did O’Rourke say about De Vrij at Tottenham?

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT that De Vrij is a player Conte loves and the former Lazio player would likely be interested in a move to Tottenham this summer.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: “We know Antonio Conte loves De Vrij. They had a great relationship together during his time at Inter when they won the title, and I’m sure De Vrij would probably be interested in reuniting with Conte if that was a possibility. .

Will Tottenham sign De Vrij?

They certainly have a good chance. Inter seem open to selling and, given their contract situation, it’s a deal that shouldn’t be too expensive.

Conte knows De Vrij well, playing 88 times against the £40.5million-rated centre-back during his time at San Siro, and often looks to Serie A when signing players.

The Italian has already signed Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, his first two signings for Spurs. Would it be a surprise if he turns to Serie A again for new additions? Absolutely not.

A player of his profile, however, you probably wouldn’t expect Tottenham to get a free run against him. However, that Conte factor could give them the edge, so it’s definitely one fans of the North London outfit should watch out for.
