Reporter delivers Victor Osimhen to Newcastle United verdict

Newcastle United have been linked with some of the best players of late, with the club now having the ability to pull off moves, following the change in ownership, that they simply couldn’t in the past. And one of the biggest names they’ve linked up with of late is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Newcastle United are indeed in need of a striker at the moment, with neither Chris Wood nor Callum Wilson able to find the back of the net consistently last season.

So someone like Osimhen would be an exceptional signing for the club as the Nigerian forwards have been linked with some of the biggest sides in Europe in recent times and would be valued at a transfer fee of around €100m. .

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has delivered a brutally honest verdict on the Newcastle United-Osimhen rumors and doesn’t believe the Magpies could come close to him at this time. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, he said:

“I’m sure he’s been on their radar for most of the summer, it’s just that the issue is probably the price tag that’s been on his head from Napoli.

“Napoli demand lots and lots of money for him so even with Newcastle’s riches I don’t think they could come close to that transfer fee for him right now. It’s probably over 80m. pounds sterling for the Nigerian international.

Journalist brutally honest Osimhen on Newcastle United verdict

Osimhen is currently one of the best young strikers in all of Europe. He was brilliant for Napoli and was one of the main reasons they were in contention for the Serie A title until the end of the campaign, although AC Milan ended up winning it.

According to Transfermarkt stats, he scored 18 goals and provided 6 assists last season in 32 appearances for Napoli. In the process, it has an average contribution to the goal less than every 100 minutes.

Moreover, he is only 23 years old and is expected to get much better in the future. So, it’s not hard to see why Napoli would want to get a hefty transfer fee to part ways with him. And at this stage, it is difficult to see Newcastle United being able to sign Osimhen.
