TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has claimed Tottenham Hotspur have not ruled out a move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

Spurs are reportedly set to seal the capture of Yves Bissouma from Brighton this week (fabrice romano), with the midfielder set to be the north London club’s third signing this summer.

The Times have revealed that apart from Bissouma, Antonio Conte is also keen to bring two defenders, an attacking midfielder and a striker to the club this summer.

Tielemans was previously mentioned as a Spurs target (GiveMeSport) but Athletic’s David Ornstein reported a few weeks ago that Arsenal hope to win the race for the Leicester star.

This was supported by the CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobswho suggested this week that Arsenal expect to win the race for the Belgium international, with Tottenham’s move for Bissouma allaying fears their north London rivals will swoop in for the Foxes star.

Crook has now insisted that while Mikel Arteta’s side remain favorites to win the race for Tielemans, Spurs are not yet out of the running for the 25-year-old’s signature.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I think Tottenham are also hiding in the background, and I think even Leicester are ready to offer him a new contract to keep him there.

“So maybe Arsenal aren’t as attractive a proposition as they used to be, but he was definitely in the building in January, his agent was in talks anyway.

“I would always make them the favourites, but their position has definitely been weakened by the fact that they are not in the Champions League.”

Boosts web opinion

If Spurs really wanted Tielemans, I suspect we would have made an approach for him by now. Even if we don’t end up winning the race to sign Christian Eriksen, I don’t think the club will travel for the Belgian international this summer.
