Spurs have been heavily linked with the Fiorentina striker, with their interest dating back to the summer, but Mokbel believes they will need to be in Europe’s top competition to have a chance.

What is the latest news with Vlahovic?

The Serbian’s future at Fiorentina looks uncertain, although a summer departure from the Serie A club looks more likely. Arsenal are also in the hunt for his signature, but no north London club are ready to play Champions League football next season.

But the situation is far from simple even then. Juventus are also interested, which means Spurs have a monumental task ahead to not only finish in the top four but also convince the 21-year-old to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Vlahovic has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in European football over the past 18 months, scoring goals for the fun of it in Serie A, while also appearing on the international stage with Serbia.

Therefore, the striker seems destined to leave Fiorentina and rise to the top.

But Mokbel says Tottenham simply need to qualify for the Champions League next season to have a chance of signing him.

What did Mokbel say about Vlahovic?

It GIVES MYPORT: “Tottenham signing him will depend on what European competition they play in. My understanding of Vlahovic’s situation is that he wants to play Champions League football next season.”

Are Tottenham likely to finish in the top four?

Their incredible win at Leicester gave their chances of beating West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester United a major boost, but the Champions League race is still wide open.

Antonio Conte’s side would appear in the driver’s seat right now, however. They are in excellent form, having one game less to Arsenal, three to the Hammers and two to United, while their rivals frequently drop points.

However, even if Tottenham win their games in hand, they may only be a few points clear. Consequently, the race to finish fourth is likely to be on the wire.

If Conte’s side win, they could have the added advantage of returning to the Champions League and signing Vlahovic as well.
