The £31.5million-rated midfielder spent the second half of this season on loan at former club Lyon, but the France international is set to return to Spurs.

What is the latest news about Ndombele?

Falling out of favor under Antonio Conte and having started just one game in his first three months at the club, the 25-year-old returned to Lyon to improve his chances of getting regular minutes.

It proved the case, with Ndombele scoring once and providing two assists in his 14 Ligue 1 and Europa League appearances: his only goal coming back in London against West Ham.

But the Frenchman is set to return to Hotspur Way once his loan expires, although Football Insider believe Ndombele will be asked to train on his own once back in north London with Lyon not expected to activate the option purchase that was included in its loan move in January.

Ndombele was training on his own before his January exit, and the report says a repeat is scheduled once he returns to Tottenham.

And with Ndombele not in Conte’s plans until next season, O’Rourke feels Spurs will want his future decided as soon as possible.

What did O’Rourke say about Ndombele?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s not an ideal situation for anyone involved in this file. Ndombele isn’t really in Spurs’ plans for the future, that’s pretty obvious after being loaned out to Lyon.

“I think Tottenham will want to sort out their future as quickly as possible, they don’t want any distractions.”

How was Ndombele’s career at Tottenham?

Ndombele might have played 91 times for the Lilywhites but many of those were disappointing.

His Tottenham career got off to the perfect start when he marked his debut with a superb long-range goal against Aston Villa, but he was unable to perform consistently despite playing under no less than five managers.

In those 91 appearances, Ndombele has registered 10 goals and nine assists, which is a decent return for a central midfielder, although much more was expected of a player with his skills.

Due to his form and attitude, which led to him being booed in his last outing against Morecambe in the FA Cup, it looks like Ndombele could have played his last game for the club.
