Massive Celtic January transfer update from reporter

Celtic brought quite a few players into their already strong squad during the summer transfer window. We’ve seen Sead Haksabanovic start to make his mark in recent weeks while Moritz Jenz, Aaron Mooy and Alexandro Bernabei also have their place in Ange Postecoglou’s plans. Still, the official hinted that more additions could be made in January.

Last year we saw Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi, Johnny Kenny and Matt O’Riley arrive in January. And this time around, it looks like Celtic could once again be looking to do their business early.

Rumors have already swirled that the club have agreed a deal to sign Vissel Kobe centre-back Yuki Kobayashi early next year.

Dean Jones claimed the move should go ahead and also told Celtic fans to be excited about the Japanese defender. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, the reporter said of the deal with Kobayashi:

“I think this one should go ahead and Celtic fans should be delighted with it.

“He will add real steel to the team and the squad, and he can dictate games as well, which would be really interesting to see.”

Celtic fans are delighted with the youngster’s January arrival

Kobayashi is a 22-year-old left-handed centre-back, who is a regular in Vissel Kobe’s side. It could also be a perfect fit for the Postecoglou football system.

Kobayashi also has a great eye for passing and a brilliant reach, he is very comfortable kicking the ball out from the back, dominating in the air, not afraid to tackle and also has a good defensive positioning.

Despite their disappointing season, Vissel Kobe was pretty solid defensively and one of the main reasons behind that was Kobayashi’s presence at the back. The potential of the Japanese defender is beyond doubt. But if he moves to Glasgow it would be very interesting to see if he can make the transition to the much more physical Scottish game.
