‘Make him go’ – Journo fumes at Leeds ace after what he did against Wolves

Junior Firpo has been lambasted for his first-half performance against Wolves for Leeds United in the Carabao Cup third round clash.

The Spaniard was given the green light early on as Jesse Marsch made ten changes to his starting lineup, but constantly found himself up against compatriot and speedster Adama Traoré.

He struggled with pace and skill on the winger, getting scraped on the wing time and time again and CBS reporter Jake Winderman had had enough and called for his immediate replacement.

“Firpo is completely skinned by Traoré”, he wrote on his personal Twitter account (November 9).

“Get him out of the field.”

As usual, it’s a poor showing from Firpo at left-back from a player who just isn’t good enough to play for this club.

Pascal Struijk isn’t a natural left-back, but he’s looked a lot more assured in the position this season than Firpo ever has, and despite his good pace Firpo just can’t handle the physicality of the opposition.

Leeds started the game fast and well in attack with the youngsters linking up well, but as the game progressed Wolves came in more and more and the chances dried up for Los Blancos.

It’s a very competitive game but Marsch’s side are fighting for that lethal advantage in front of goal and at the moment Firpo is just a passenger in the side.

If he continues with this performance, eventually Leeds carrying him won’t be possible and the team will be punished for their struggles sooner or later.

Firpo has been awful, but that’s nothing new for Leeds fans who watch the team regularly and keep our fingers crossed we don’t have to see him too often in the future.
