Yeremy Pino joining Arsenal remains an active prospect this summer, despite interest from Liverpool.

The Villarreal striker is heavily linked with transfers from both the Gunners and Jurgen Klopp’s side.

It was reported earlier in August that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had been encouraging the club hierarchy to sign the player for a month, while Fabrizio Romano only revealed this week that Pino is definitely a player on the Liverpool radar.

The North Londoners have outspent their Merseyside counterparts in this transfer window, despite the Reds breaking their club record to sign £85m Darwin Nunez.

But with Arteta’s side needing more work on their squad, Yeremy Pino joining Arsenal is a more realistic proposition than Liverpool, one might say.

And according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, the 19-year-old – valued at £68m – may well be ‘entured’ to the idea of joining the Emirates Stadium squad.

He told Give Me Sport: “Yeah, I think so. Most players, regardless of the league they play in, are really attracted to the Premier League, and I think Arsenal are a club that is going in the right direction at the moment under Mikel Arteta.

Will Yeremy Pino join Arsenal?

With Pino being a winger, this could complete Arsenal’s window in style.

You could say that a wide player is the missing piece of the puzzle for Arteta and Edu Gaspar, the one position that could significantly boost the prospect of their Champions League qualification.

If Liverpool are genuinely interested – and according to Romano they are – then they pose a serious threat and it will be fascinating to see which side win.
