Journalist shares what Conte ‘said’ at club

The Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick has shared what Antonio Conte has now ‘told Tottenham’ ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool tonight.

The Lowdown: Spurs prepare…

The top four chasers are set to take on Jurgen Klopp’s side in a blockbuster encounter with plenty of driving on occasion.

Liverpool are in an uphill battle with top-flight champions Man City and victory over Conte’s men will be a huge boost in their final battles of 2021/2022.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, are still holding out hope of a Champions League qualification spot – no doubt thanks to their boss appointed in November orchestrating a stunning turnaround.

Much has been said about whether the Italian will stay at Spurs beyond this season with links emerging with the Paris-Saint Germain manager’s job.

The Latest: Conte sends a message…

Kilpatrick, relaying what Conte has now’told Tottenham‘, actions the 52-year-old explained Spurs will have to’spend a lot of money or hope for a miracle‘ to eventually compete with today’s opponents.

The former Chelsea boss also claims that, should a Klopp-like rise with the Anfield side happen at Hotspur Way, he would sign the contract in a heartbeat (via The Evening Standard).

The Verdict: Message to the Board of Directors…

If Conte’s intention to splash the cash this summer wasn’t evident by the plethora of recent reports, it is now.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, following that clear clue, has been tasked with supporting his manager this summer and helping to turn the Lilywhites into an English force.

Going by Conte’s work so far in North London, we think he could turn Spurs into title contenders in the same way Klopp did in Merseyside.

However, as the Serie A title winner himself explained, it’s largely up to the club’s hierarchy to ensure they have all the weapons possible.
