Latest: Journalist Shares Danjuma Update…
After West Hamtalks‘ and an ‘official approach’ to signing the former Bournemouth star, 90 Minutes reporter Toby Cudworth has now issued an important update.
He explained (via Twitter): “Fast moving story but now told at #WHUFC moving away from Danjuma. Has been offered to the club and an approach has been made, pending approval from David Moyes and management – but they have concerns. Agreement unlikely at this time.
The verdict: blow for West Ham?
Given the Dutchman’s obvious quality, this could be one Moyes and co may want to revisit at a later date – provided another club doesn’t poach Danjuma in the meantime.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old finished 2021/22 as Villarreal’s top scorer in La Liga (10) and averaged their highest number of goal attempts (2.7) out of 90, possibly indicating that he could be a real threat to West Ham.
Danjuma has also been branded a “nightmare” against Premier League Golden Boot winner Kevin Phillips and the Hammers need to weigh their next move carefully.
