What is the latest news about De Ligt?

Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene has admitted to Tuttosport that it’s impossible to retain a disgruntled player at the Allianz Stadium.

“It’s impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club – but all three negotiating parties have to be happy,” he said amid Chelsea’s interest in De Ligt.

The above comes after the Blues reportedly offered cash and Timo Werner for the 22-year-old, a proposal rejected by the Italian giants.

The Daily Mail have since claimed that Chelsea have resumed talks with Juventus and are open to including Christian Pulisic in any potential deal. De Ligt has a release clause set at £102m but it is believed the west London club are not ready to come anywhere close to that figure.

What did Jones say about De Ligt at Chelsea?

With Juventus looking set to sell De Ligt, Jones believes Chelsea have a chance to land the Dutchman this summer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I mean, De Ligt is the dream signing. He’s the guy Tuchel would replace anyone else, so it’s a fantastic situation he could be available in.

“I’m not even sure they’re fully convinced yet, but the fact that Juve seem reasonably open to it is promising.”

What other centre-backs are watching Chelsea?

With Chelsea losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, it’s understandable that they have a long list of defensive targets.

Besides De Ligt, the Blues are also said to be interested in signing their former defender Nathan Ake.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are in talks with Manchester City to buy Ake and teammate Raheem Sterling. Being left-footed, the Dutch international will likely replace Rudiger on the left side of Tuchel’s back three if he returns to Stamford Bridge.

The same outlet say Sevilla’s Jules Kounde is also on the club’s radar, while reliable Gianluca Di Marzio says there is also interest in Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar.

If they can land De Ligt and another centre-back by those names, Tuchel is likely to be a very happy man.
