Journalist explains why Conte won’t find Chelsea star as Newcastle target Tottenham target

It seems to be a question of when and not if Chelsea decide to leave striker Romelu Lukaku after one season. The 28-year-old struggled on his return to Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku’s name has surfaced with many clubs as he eyes a move away and one club linked with the Belgium international is Tottenham Hotspur due to the North London club having manager Antonio Conte at the helm.

Under Conte, Lukaku was one of the best strikers in Europe, helping Inter Milan win Serie A last season. However, he was unable to replicate that this year with Chelsea; as a result, rumors link the two for a reunion, but an Italian journalist put some cold water on this information.

“Until a few hours ago he was talking with the Inter management and with some important players in the team. He said he was ready to return to the club’s commitment parameters. That’s a fact,” Alfio Musmarra at Telelombardy (Going through FC Inter 1908).

“In England, there is no market; Tottenham don’t make that kind of investment in older players. But Inter can’t buy him; they can only work on a two-year loan. But Inter certainly can’t buy him.

Meanwhile, another Belgian striker linked with Tottenham is Club Brugge striker Charles De Ketelaere; however, another Premier League club could be ready to pounce on the 21-year-old. According to CalciomercatoNewcastle United enters the scene.

De Ketelaere has made 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals and registering nine assists for Club Brugge this season.
