Daily Star reporter Paul Brown has backed Tottenham to make two ‘big-money’ signings before the transfer window closes.

Tottenham secured the services of Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic on free transfers as they paid Brighton £25million plus add-ons to nab Yves Bissouma (Daily Mail).

Reports say the North London club are far from done this summer, with The Times suggesting Antonio Conte still wants four more signings to come through the door.

Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence is believed to be on the club’s radar, with Sky Sports reporting this week that Spurs are now ready to step up their drive to sign the England Under-21 international – despite missing out of charges (Tom Barclay).

Athletic have claimed Tottenham would have to spend big on a left centre-back, with Alessandro Bastoni and Pau Torres among the names on Conte’s wishlist.

Spurs have also been linked with several high-profile strikers in recent weeks, including Raphinha (fabrice romano), Richardson (UOL), Gabriel Jesus (Mirror) and Lautaro Martinez (Alfredo Pedulla).

Brown has now said that while the majority of Tottenham’s signings this summer will be bargains, he expects the club to make one or two pricey additions as well.

The reporter told GiveMeSport: “The deals they’ve done so far have been impressive enough to hit pretty quickly, but I still think Spurs have some big deals up their sleeve in this window.

“Conte won his battle for support this summer and I think they’re going to spend the money, but they want to sign so many players for him that it’s only going to be one or two big buys and the rest will be good. deal for one reason or another.”

Boosts web opinion

I think the majority of our transfer budget this summer will be spent on a left centre-back and a versatile striker. No one knows who we sign for either position at this time, with Paratici apparently following their rulebook by negotiating a number of different targets for each position.
