Journalist James Marshment spoke to YouTuber Joe Wainman to discuss the latest Leeds transfer news amid recent links with the West Ham United man.

According to Fabrice Romanohowever, the Yorkshire club face competition from Aston Villa for the signing of Perkins, with the two clubs opening talks with the striker.

With competition for the young striker’s signature, Marshment claimed it would be a smart addition from Los Blancos given he’s set to leave as a free agent:

“Looks like he’s going to move on. His agent is in talks with, if we want to believe it, Leeds and Aston Villa. And it looks like a move is imminent for him.

“So potentially you could get a really, really good player for a real knockdown price. And if that works and you have a great striker in your mix, then in three or four years you’ll be talking about a £20m or £30m player. So, you know, I think it’s a no-brainer if we can do it.

TIF thoughts on Leeds…

After securing Premier League status on the final day of last season, Leeds will be desperate to endure a comfortable campaign next time around in August. And, with Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen already on the doorstep, those at Elland Road look set to enjoy a better season.

Although he may not necessarily be a first-team regular right away, Perkins could still become a bargain in the future. The teenager has made three appearances for West Ham, including in the Europa League against Dynamo Zagreb.

Adding to the revenue next could, indeed, be Perkins, should the reported talks end in a move. As things stand, however, he remains a West Ham player. With plenty of time left in the transfer window, however, that could still change.
