Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi: ‘Inter could use a friendly against RB Salzburg to seal a deal for midfielder Noah Okafor’

Inter will use an upcoming friendly against Red Bull Salzburg as an opportunity to progress in a deal to sign midfielder Noah Okafor from the Austrian club.

Speaking on his Youtube channelItalian journalist Marco Barzaghi has claimed Inter are hot on the trail of Swiss international Okafor and there is a possibility a deal could be agreed later this year.

Inter are due to face Salzburg on December 7 as part of their training camp in Malta as they try to maintain their fitness during the World Cup break, and it is seen as the main opportunity to discuss of an agreement to bring in Okafor.

Meanwhile, the reporter also suggested that a move for the 22-year-old could see Austrian winger Valentino Lazaro go the other way, having enjoyed a good season on loan at Turin.

“Inter will make an attempt in June for Marcus Thuram and also for Salzburg’s Okafor,” revealed the Mediaset journalist.

“He’s very interesting and fast, you’re looking at a fast player who beats his man and creates numerical superiority, but he costs 20 million euros.

“Be careful, because a kind of collaboration is taking place with Salzburg, given that on December 7 there will be a friendly match in Malta against Inter,” said Barzaghi.

“It could be an important moment to talk about the player and maybe try to get a deal with Lazaro, who is having a good season.”
