Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani: ‘Romelu Lukaku’s injury problems are very complicated and could affect his future at Inter’

Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani believes that Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s injury problems are very serious and could prevent him from staying at the Nerazzurri after the end of the season.

Speaking to Italian TV channel Telelombardia, as reported FCInter1908Ravezzani felt that the Belgian’s issues seemed significant enough to cast doubt on his ability to put on a consistent performance, even though the Nerazzurri’s medical staff didn’t really acknowledge it.

Lukaku has managed to make all three of his starts and two substitute appearances for Inter in over three months since the start of the season.

Worryingly, the 29-year-old picked up another injury after a lengthy recovery period after which he was deemed ready to return to the pitch by the club’s medical staff.

In Ravezzani’s view, this suggests that the underlying issues could be very significant and the club could have major doubts as to whether they are ready to rely on Lukaku in the longer term.

“Inter’s medical staff won’t say it, but Lukaku’s is not an easy problem to solve,” he said.

“Actually, Inter didn’t underestimate the problem, but when the staff found the muscle problems, they immediately saw that he would need more time to recover.”

“What’s worrying is that they tried to get him back and then he got injured again.”

“This suggests that the situation is much more complicated than we had been led to assume.”
