Arsenal staff all love the 28-year-old who wants to leave

Charles Watts has given an update on the future of Pablo Mari, on loan from Arsenal, on his YouTube channel.

The reporter says the Gunners defender is having a ‘good time’ on loan at Udinese.

Indeed, Watts also claimed that Arsenal would not object to Mari’s permanent departure.

The 28-year-old failed to secure a regular role under Mikel Arteta at Emirates Stadium.

“It’s the right league for me”

As a result, Mari joined the Serie A club in January on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

The Spaniard will have two more years on his contract with the Gunners this summer.

After his spell in Italy, Mari is expected to return to Arsenal at the end of the season.

However, the Gunners man recently told Gazzetta dello Sport that he wants to stay at Udinese.

“It’s the right league for me,” Mari said, via Metro. “Very tactical. I try to bring the aggressor towards me.

“I really like having the ball and here it can be done.

“And then there’s the battle and I like to have a battle on the pitch.

“I would like to stay in Italy.

“The Friendliest Guy”

Watts claimed that shouldn’t be a problem for Arsenal, revealing he is a hugely popular figure at the club.

As a result, the Gunners hierarchy are likely to grant his wish if the right offer – at least £6million – comes along.

“Pablo Mari is having a great time at Udinese,” Watts said.

“I was quite a big fan when he first arrived and Arteta lost faith in him and he looked slow at times.

“It is very clear where he would like to see his future lie.

“Arsenal aren’t going to get in their way if a decent offer comes along.

“I don’t think there is an option to buy in the loan deal and that’s something that will be negotiated this summer.

“They will be asking for £6.7.8million. I’m sure Arsenal will be happy to bring him forward.

“I hope he does well because he’s such a nice guy.

“Everybody you talk to at Arsenal – staff, players, agent – I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about him.

“He’s apparently the nicest guy. No one will want to get in his way.
