‘Antony Is Gone’: Reporter reports Manchester United target now set to leave Ajax in massive deal

With the simple tweet ‘Antony is gone’, journalist Gerjan Hamstelaar revealed that Brazilian striker Antony is set to leave Ajax.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with the youngster, and although Hamstelaar’s tweet didn’t specify where he is going, it looks like he will join the Red Devils.

The winger is an exhilarating player to watch, providing genuine attacking inspiration in wide areas to light up the Red Devils’ attack.

Although their frontline is brimming with talent, with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford being their best wingers at the moment, neither has been particularly impressive since the start of the season.

If Antony can adapt to Premier League football and impress the new manager at Old Trafford, he could jump both in Erik ten Hag’s pecking order.

Erik ten Hag’s transfer wishes included Antony, who joined Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen in the summer.

Since their arrival, all three have been excellent, with Martinez a fantastic addition to the Red Devils backline.

The success of these additions demonstrates, more than anything else, that Ten Hag’s judgment is excellent.

If he thinks Antony will be a good signing for the Theater of Dreams, the club’s hierarchy and fans should believe him and do whatever it takes to get him in.
