The famous journalist claimed that Gakpo would like to accept a transfer to a big club like Manchester United, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
“#Gakpo News: I have been told there is no deal with #LUFC at this stage. Leeds United are very interested but the player would like to make a move to a bigger club like #MUFC, # MCFC, Real, Barcelona or FC Bayern. A transfer in winter is not excluded”
It should be remembered that during the last transfer window, the 23-year-old star agreed on personal terms to join the Red Devils but Ten Hag no longer had enough funds to complete his signing (The Athletic).
This weekend, the reigning Dutch Footballer of the Year scored the winning goal for PSV, who are currently two points behind league leaders AZ Alkmaar, against Heerenveen.
This season so far in all competitions, Gakpo has directly contributed to 23 goals (13 goals and 10 assists) already in just 16 appearances for the Eredivisie club.
For the Oranje, the youngster made his debut last year and so far in 6 starts he has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.
The 9-cap international has been absolutely brilliant in the last round of Nations League fixtures and he should be a key player for Van Gaal at the World Cup.
As for the asking price, last month journalist Jacque Talbot revealed that PSV would demand a fee of £40m to sell the prized asset.
