Crude Oil Inventories Aug 19 2009

Posted by Doug Ragan

Today was the weekly release of Crude Oil Inventories. This measures the change in the number of barrels of crude oil held in inventory by commercial firms during the past week.  Being late Aug, we trade the Oct contract. It was forecast to come in at 1.1 million barrels, and ended up being -8.4 million barrels, so the price went up. You can see my trade by clicking on the chart.

The trade here is 1 contract long at 71.22 and then 19 seconds later I closed at 71.87 for $650 profit.
