Hatred of a group is hatred of a group, your reason for hating them is meaningless if you are targeting them only because they belong to that group. The exception to that rule is of course if a group happens to be a hate based group such as the KKK.

To say that it is more wrong to target someone based on skin color than the fact that they served this country demonstrates a hatred of those who served.

And anyone claiming that military vets are not targets needs to watch video from the “peaceful” anti-war rallies where vets have in fact been attacked.

Hate crimes legislation by its very nature gives unequal protection to certain groups over others and is therefore a violation of the US Constitution. So not only is she demonstrating that she hates the military, she is doing so while defending a law that stomps on the foundation of this country.
