What you described isn’t reality, you described opinion. If we are living in a matrix or a dream, then nothing matters which makes blogging your opinions about the problems of this planet a huge waste of time.

Science is more theory than fact. Some of those theories are correct, some are not.

The reality is that there are bad people in the world and someone has to deal with them. If we don’t deal with them, they will continue to come after us just like they did on 9-11. The attacks of that day were not perceived, they were not imagined. They happened, that is a fact. Believing that it won’t happen again doesn’t prevent it from happening again.

What I mean by reality is a perception is that we all see the world differently and during the course of our lives we all compare our perceptions and this comparison leads us to accept certain views as truth. For us to know true reality, we’d have to be god-like and see everything all at once. After all, there’s no way to prove that all of us are not living in a matrix-type simulation or just having one very elaborate dream right now.

Reality is based on fact, but facts have a funny way of changing as history marches on. For instance, I was taught that Pluto was a planet, that it was a fact set in science, and now the facts have changed and Pluto is no longer perceived as a planet!

Reality is not a perception, it is based in fact. Opinions are based in perception. That there are people trying to destroy the US is a reality, it is a fact.

Looks like a full carnival, I’m looking forward to reading through the posts but right now I’m off to the Celtics game! Btw, love the description for my post!

Remember though, reality is simply a communication construct that allows us to relate to each other via the most common perceptions of the world. There is no such thing as one true reality as we all see the world differently. There is a common or average viewpoint, which most call reality but by definition there is no clear cut reality, or at least we don’t know what it is.
