I was LTC West’s Executive Officer in Iraq. I have never met a man more committed to doing the right thing in my life. Whether or not you agree with how he handled the situation in Taji (he did NOT touch the prisoner nor condone any physical abuse, by the way), the fact is that we got information, used it, and the attacks STOPPED. He saved more lives than I want to think about. (And to set the record straight, Alex, he was NOT kicked out of the military–he retired honorbly.) He is an honest, religious, gracious, thoughtful, considerate, and intelligent man. Any one of those attributes would be a good change for Washington DC. For the first time in my life I regret that I am not a Floridian, because he would have my vote, as he would have had four years ago. If you don’t seriously consider listening to the man and voting for him, you do yourself, Allen West, and the great state of Florida a grave disservice.
